THE CULTURAL FUTURES LAB.
SHAPING OUR HERITAGE FUTURES, TOGETHER

01Â why cultural futures?
Reinventing spaces, sharing stories
The ways we remember and interpret the past profoundly impact the choices we make and the actions we take now and into the future. When we recollect events, we’re not simply recalling objective facts, but we are literally
re-collecting ourselves. We’re bringing to bear our own subjective experiences, emotions, and interpretations and re-shaping our understanding of who we are, where we come from, and what we value
02 Future centred
A collaborative approach to cultural shifts
Cultural futurism inspires social and cultural change through exploring new possibilities applying a future-centered design process and posing questions like 'What if...?' and 'How might we...?'. It encompasses various forms, from speculative design and science fiction to ethno futurism, and includes music, art, and fashion. By amplifying marginalised voices in cultural narratives we can create a shared story of change & a more equitable & inclusive future, enhancing our collective resilience
